i don’t live near tx not do i know anyone there. i think this cause it was a samsung tablet in houston tx. If you have a snapchat i’m sure you know that when you log in, it sends you the information of the device that logs in (ip, make and model of device, location where device is, etc.) well i think this person uses a spiffer for their device and location and ip, or a vpn. what stumps me though is the method this hacker used to get into my account. my girlfriend (the mvp in this situation,imo) sends me a link to message support and so i fill out a form and get in touch with snap’s security team and i get logged back in. i thought “all cool, 2fa is on and i’m safe” next thing i know i’m getting like 4 calls from snapchat, i declined two and got voicemails for them and 4 one second calls from unknown.Īt this point i’m hacked and i’m freaking out. apparently it didn’t because i got up 30mins later to use the bathroom and it happens again. My plan was to roll over and go back to bed after changing my password and setting up 2fa, which i thought would work. i’ve been hacked before and i was stupid enough to give them the code (not my brightest moment but whtvr) but i wasn’t gonna do that this time. i checked my text messages and see that i have reset codes. the call ends and as i watch it end, an unknown caller calls for one second and ends it. So this morning around 4:30am, i wake up to my girlfriend on facetime with me and snapchat calling me.
i’m a 19 y/o (f) and i have had male parters in the past so some weird things to get into my socials, snapchat the most often. Okay so let me preface by saying i have had a weird string of bad luck when it comes to cyber attacks.
